St. Augustine: “He who sings prays twice”
MUSIC MINISTRY WRITE-UP
The St. Thomas More Music Ministry is under the leadership of our gifted organist and Director of Music, Kyle Medeiros. Kyle and his cohort of choir members inspire us each week with their uplifting musical performances. Their music truly enhances the liturgy of the mass. During the Christmas and Easter seasons, as well as on other special occasions, the Music Ministry customarily puts together an especially inspiring performance suited to the particular occasion.
All parishioners—musically inclined or not—are welcomed to join the Music Ministry, either as a member of the choir or as an accompanying musician. You don’t have to be an accomplished alto or soprano, baritone or base to participate in our choral devotions. The only necessary qualification is a desire to use your voice in the worship of our Lord. As St. Augustine once said, “He who sings prays twice.”
The Music Ministry doesn’t require you to commit a large amount of time to be a member. The choir sings at one mass each week, rotating their performance through the three weekend masses. Choir rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm in the church, from September to June. Rehearsals last about an hour and a half.
If you are interested in joining the Music Ministry, please speak with Kyle after mass or stop in to rehearsal on a Thursday evening. Or you can email him at email@example.com or call him at 401-855-5585.
The Music Ministry allows you to display your faith in a truly gratifying manner—joyfully singing praise to God. Come and join the men and women of the St. Thomas More choir.
